About

Cyprus, with its warm and stable climate and convenient geographical position, is considered an attractive location for both residence and employment. The investment landscape in Cyprus is desirable due to the island’s well-qualified labour force and a reliable transport and telecommunications system.

Having some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, 57 of which carry the eco-label Blue Flag , Cyprus is also the home of many historical monuments such as the Kourion Archaeological Site and the Neolithic Settlement of Choirokoitia, which are included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Cyprus has a modern, free market, service-based economy, with an effective and transparent regulatory and legal framework, giving international investors and domestic businesses confidence to invest, grow and prosper. Cyprus was ranked 58th out of 144 countries in the World Economic Forum "Global Competitiveness Index 2013 - 2014". A number of new measures have been implemented to reboot the economy in the wake of the massive restructuring of the country’s banking sector that aim, among other things, to help stimulate economic growth.

As well as being a perennially popular location for international consultants and independent contractors, the island also attracts active retirees attracted not just by the lifestyle, but by the large number of double taxation treaties meaning that retirement income from abroad will not usually be subject to withholding tax. Cyprus' strong commercial relations with eastern European and Middle Eastern countries enhance its economic and financial position.
