Our office provides legal advice to resolve commercial and legal issues arising from maritime affairs in Cyprus and abroad. We handle disputes arising from time charters (time charter) and chartering vessels for a specified voyage (voyage charter), ship arrest, fares (freight), the default ship (demurrage) and the suspension of charter ships (off hire). Additionally, we undertake to resolve disputes arising from contracts for the construction and repair of ships, registration and enforcement of mortgages and claims arising from damage or loss of cargo, sailors’ wages and expenses made on behalf of the ship by the captain or any other supplier. . We provide legal advice on maritime security and insurance policy requirements, financing, ownership and management of ships, as well as funding for acquisition and registration of ships, including the drafting and preparation of the relevant documents, related guarantees, etc.
