Constantinos Mamantos specializes in civil litigation with a focus on public law and procurement, civil wrongdoings, employment and property related disputes.

Constantinos has substantive experience of challenging the unlawful actions of public bodies through Judicial Review in the Administrative Court. He mainly deals with cases that often include the applicability and interpretation of European and Human Rights law where the court examines whether government decision makers have acted fairly, in good faith, rationally and only using the powers that they have for their proper purposes.

He represents a wide range of clients including individuals, trade unions, action and campaigning groups. He has acted as in a variety of professional disciplinary matters before a variety of tribunals.

Constantinos holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws in European Law from the University of Nicosia.

Constantinos qualified as an Advocate in 2015.

• Acting for an action group of over 100 public officers who have initiated legal proceedings before the Administrative Court against the unconstitutional decision of a semi-public organisation to proceed with salary cuts in violation of their human rights;

• Acting for a high – ranking director in a judicial review alleging that the semi-public organisation denied his advancement in violation of their duty to determine promotion in the public service solely on the basis of merit, namely, relative ability, knowledge and skill;

• Represented successfully a private Greek company in a civil action for breach of contract granted after public procurement by the Ministry of Finance;

• Represented successfully a landlord in a complex litigation before the Rent Control Court involving unpaid rents and repossession of property while subsequently claiming compensation for damages to the property;

• Acting for a class appeal of a union of over 70 employees of a semi-public organisation before the Supreme Court who were denied the provision of transport benefits;

• Represented successfully in a second consecutive judicial review an inability benefit holder against the decision of Department of Social Insurance to terminate his benefit;

• Acting for an individual in a case of unlawful dismissal of a group of employees of big private courier company;

• Acting for a wood manufacturing company which is a defendant in proceedings before the Labour Court involving issues of substantial turnover reduction;

• Settling successfully a personal injury case of 16-year-old involved of a car accident on a pedestrian crossing and achieving the highest applicable compensation;

• Acting of behalf of a fishing company in a complex banking litigation involving the set aside of a judgment issued on the basis of false pretences and factual inaccuracies;

• Acting for an individual in proceedings before the Court of Appeal involving bankruptcy discharge and clearance of previous debts;

• Acting for the defendant and counter-claim home owner who is involved in construction litigation for defaults and poor works;
