Laura Pangou specialises in civil litigation with a particular focus on property law undertaking litigation and private client work for both local, foreign and high net worth individuals particularly regarding commercial disputes, deceased estate and trust disputes, and estate planning.
Her areas of expertise include sales and acquisitions of high value, complex and unusual residential property. She advises on all aspects of the purchase or the sale, mortgage and the wider implications of property ownership. She has acted on citizenship by investment purchases and disposals as well as real estate finance acting for both lenders and borrowers and has a particular focus on advising on the property elements of corporate sales and acquisitions.
She works closely with a team of trusted advisors to take care of the tax and succession issues that may arise in a client’s particular circumstances such as claims against trustees and disputes arising out of validity of a will.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nicosia.
Laura qualified as an Advocate in 2016.
• Advising a Russian HNWI who acquired the Cypriot citizenship under the Cypriot Investment Program in relation to property arrangements, VAT refunds and day-to-day rental affairs;
• Advising a Lebanese HNWI and business consultant in UAE and his family with regards to the acquisition Cypriot citizenship under the Cypriot Investment Program of issue of temporary residence permits;
• Advising a Chinese HNWI in relation to the naturalisation of his minor child that was bound by the terms of a divorce settlement agreement;
• Advising the family of a Russian HNWI in relation to the acquisition of the Cypriot citizenship including sale and acquisition of residential property;
• Advising a Ukrainian HNWI on due diligence and compliance matters in relation to multi-million agreements with a Cypriot developer acting through various subsidiaries;
• Advising a religious committee in relation to leasehold agreements of high value projects and investments in land and construction;
• Acting on behalf of Russian individual and arranging all the property related transactions and transfer under his settlement divorce agreement which was declared enforceable by the Court;
• Advising a Zambian individual concerning the acquisition of luxury residential property in Cyprus and simultaneously consulting on the financial aspect of the transaction;
• Advising a South African family of Cypriot origin in relation to their debt restructuring and asset swap resulting in settlement agreement with the banking institution;
• Acting on behalf of multi-million landowner and heir with over the validity of the Will of his deceased wife and the entitlement to a grant of representation to the estate;
